FirstCut is an international students film festival that recognizes the filmmaker in everyone. It is a short film competition, where it doesn’t matter if a DSLR or a mobile camera is used to shoot. There are no restrictions on the theme one can choose. All that matters is the way the story is told.
FLAME Campus has ample Labs and studios that provide opportunities to students for hands-on experience to learn various procedural skills. These labs and studios provide students a setting where they can observe, practice, explore, solve scientific and artistic problems, and gain mastery through hands-on use of disciplinary tools and techniques. Unlike the conventional classroom teaching, lab and studio sessions provide students opportunities for discovery, teamwork and interdependence in the process of learning. The studios have production, post-production and design facilities to meet a wide variety of student, professional, and academic needs. These facilities include teaching labs, post production video lab, recording studio, audio and video editing rooms. The lab and studio sessions’ objective is to accelerate student learning through collaboration, innovation and change.
As part of the Developmental Activities Program, students get to work with an NGO for a period of 8-10 weeks. This grounds and humbles them and also gives them unique exposure which they may not get otherwise.
The Discover India Program is a unique experiential learning initiative that explores and understands ones’ cultural heritage and in turn aids in understanding oneself better. It takes a deep dive into a particular cultural or historical aspect of India, into the lives of the locals, their livelihoods and their troubles and in some cases also attempts to provide suggestions to help resolve their problems.

The FLAME Investment lab is the ‘Epicenter of Value Investing In India’. FLAME Investment Lab is imbued with the spirit and essence of liberal arts, where participants learn about value investing not only from the Masters but also from a vibrant peer group. FLAME inducted the FLAME Investment Lab (FIL), an initiative that strives to deliver the concepts and decipher the art of value investing to interested students.
The FLAME Entrepreneurship Lab is an initiative that fosters entrepreneurial spirit among students of FLAME. The aim of the Entrepreneurship Lab is to give the students hands-on experience about the creation, inception and management of an entrepreneurship venture.
Sports and sportsman spirit are an integral part of the FLAME culture. Apart from the adjacent 18-hole golf course, students at FLAME University have an international size cricket ground, football, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts and an outdoor swimming pool at their disposal. A martial arts dojo, badminton courts, billiards tables, table tennis and chessboards ensure that FLAME’s sporting facilities are world-class. Every year FLAME hosts a number of special sports events, including both intra and inter-collegiate sports competitions and seminars from top sports instructors and coaches.

The FLAME Scholars Program is a one-year post-graduate diploma program that empowers the student with knowledge and skills that will help them perform efficiently in their chosen career. Research and scholarship in inter-disciplinary areas are an integral part of the program. The courses that constitute this program are highly specialized and will go beyond the three-year undergraduate curriculum with innovations in content, delivery, and structure.

There are more than 20 student clubs on campus ranging from singing club to photography club, film club, social activities to debate clubs, marketing, investment, entrepreneurship clubs, literary clubs to eating clubs and various sports clubs.
Our alumni, though not very large in absolute numbers, but sizeable in achievement have gained success in different ways. Some have gone on to study in prestigious schools like Harvard, Northwestern, Oxford, LSE, Warwick among others for higher education while some are working in the biggest and most renowned companies like Deloitte, E&Y, KPMG, Discovery, Viacom and many more. Some have also gone on to build start-ups.
The FLAME Vivekananda Library with its state-of-the-art building, hardware, software and other allied resources is fast developing into one of the finest institutional libraries in the country. Its inviting architecture provides an ambience that is relaxed but modern; and space that is large yet intimate. The library is fully automated using KOHA software. The library is RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) enabled. The Library of Mistakes has its first international association with FLAME University's Vivekananda Library.

FLAME hosts an annual inter-collegiate competition that holds cultural, academic and sports events. More than 100 education institutes compete in this festival. Amazon, Café Coffee Day, Deloitte, E&Y, KPMG, Viacom 18, Star, NSE, HDFC, Vedanta, Kotak and many more such renowned names are included in the recruiting companies. Students through the Office of Career Services get to intern with renowned companies across domains that give them a taste of the real work environment and help them understand requirements to be true professionals.

FLAME University’s student body comes from different cities in India and abroad and its campus is a melting pot of culture and talent. Being a residential campus, students spend a substantial amount of time together. They create memories and bonds that last a life time.
All students are divided into four houses - Aryabhatta, Chanakya, Kalidas and Vivekananda, to enhance competition and to give a sense of belonging. It gives students an identity and a sense of onus for something bigger than themselves. The houses compete against each other in all intra collegiate academic, sports and cultural competitions.

The Office of Career Services at FLAME University strives to facilitate students in finding recruiters that fit their skill set. They help students define their career goals and try to fulfill their ambitions by providing them with the best available employment resources. Tools such as resume and interviewing workshops, career fairs, career counseling, and presentations are used extensively to help students get jobs that they fit in. Internships with renowned companies also help to further student careers.
The FLAME community is a patron of the arts. Students have the opportunity to learn various musical instruments like guitar and table. They then showcase their talents in various contests or through informal jamming nights on campus.
There are shuttle buses to the city center from campus and back at various times of the day making it convenient for students to go and explore the hustle bustle of Pune city.
The campus is landscaped with various trees and different plants. The different shades of green along with the glorious colors of the different flowers make the campus breathtakingly beautiful. Chirping birds and colorful butterflies make the campus feel like a heavenly meadow.

Peer mentoring is an effort to make new students feel more comfortable and help answer questions that students might be hesitant asking the staff or faculty. The photography club is one of the most active and sought after student club. Students are constantly updating themselves on new techniques in photography. They also arrange photo walks in and around campus. They also have photo exhibitions to display their work to the FLAME Community.
It’s the social activities club that strives to do social work with NGO’s to make a difference in the surrounding and neighboring communities and help the less privileged make a future for them.
A state of the art research centre to understand the workings of inner and outer worlds. FLAME University in collaboration with Nuffield College, University of Oxford has set up a research centre to promote research. The aim of the Centre is to facilitate experimental research in the social sciences, providing international researchers with an Indian subject pool and contributing to the development of this rapidly-growing field of research in India. CESS Nuffield-FLAME University has state of the art facilities, a diverse subject pool, and an experienced team able to assist with the design and execution of lab, field, and online experiments.
Kalidas - the air-conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of over 200 is a central space at FLAME always abuzz with activity - academic, artistic, cultural, creative and delightfully entertaining. University and school level theatre, sporting and musical performances, and special university ceremonies are a regular feature at Kalidas. These are also the regular practicing arenas for students’ informal club meetings and get-togethers. Some of the events that are held here are marketing, investment and entrepreneurship conclaves; town hall meetings, prize-distribution ceremonies, oath-taking ceremonies among others.
