About FLAME
‘From here, the great go forth.’
Spread over 60 acres of green expanse, FLAME University stands tall in the heart of Pune.
FLAME has changed the way our students learn by going beyond the classroom and into the real world, providing them with an educational experience where they can choose their unique career paths.
Rooted in the Indian tradition and rising as a pioneer of Liberal Education in India, we create thinkers and doers who question the status quo and challenge themselves. We aim to construct knowledge ecologies that liberate students' minds from traditional thinking, allow them to reach their full potential and lead them on a path of self-discovery.
Equipping our students to thrive in the real world and make their mark
We believe that each student’s creativity, imagination, and passion are extraordinary and need to be recognized. By welcoming creativity, self-discovery, and innovation, we shape careers, minds, and life in a truly symbiotic and collaborative environment.
Our intense and intellectual curriculum caters to worldly interests across five schools
Each school centres on perspective building, studying problems to give creative
solutions, teamwork and ethics. We also strongly emphasize international collaborations, commitment to public service, and high-quality, impactful research that forms our rigorous and experiential pedagogy.
Therefore, when our students step out into the real world, they are ready to go out there and create change.
And when they go beyond FLAME, the FLAME within them stays alive.

Words from our students:
By Tina Mangwani, BBA Marketing, a batch of 2017-20 with a Design Minor at FLAME. Presently pursuing her Master's in Design from RMIT University, Melbourne.
“Having completed a minor in design at FLAME, I went on to pursue a masters in the field owing to the strong foundation built through the course. I learnt through an array of subjects that not only covered all bases but also escalated my intrigue and verve for the field. With a full-fledged design curriculum now offered as a major, I can only imagine how the boundaries of design and technology can be pushed.”

FLAME has made a radical departure from traditional models of higher education by addressing two critical issues - lack of interdisciplinarity and the lack of opportunity to make an informed decision about one's specialisation.
Rather than limiting students to the streams of Arts, Science and Commerce, FLAME allows students to take courses across interconnected areas such as Physical & Natural Sciences, Design, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Fine & Performing Arts. This exposes students to multiple disciplines and allows them to truly explore their academic interests so that they can make an enlightened choice about their specialisation.
FLAME University's B.Des undergraduate program comprises Foundation Courses, Specialization Courses, Experiential Learning Courses, Value-Added Courses, and Professional Practices.

Class of 2020 | Major - Marketing, Minor - Design. Presently pursuing her Master's in Design from RMIT University, Melbourne.
“I studied Digital Marketing and Design at FLAME. Something I found extremely exciting while applying to FLAME was the Design minor that was being offered. Two years and almost 8 design courses later, we were exposed to different facets and dimensions of design and design thinking. I particularly enjoyed the Design Thinking, Human Centric Design, and Business and Services Design Courses the most because they took us through the ideation and research process of design. Additionally, how it is also very important to keep people at the center while designing something, be it a solution or a product. There was a lot of hands on work as well in some of the courses, which really pushed me to think about what more I could do. Overall, the design minor is a rather well-rounded specialization and I'm super excited for everyone who are taking up Design as a major!”
Class of 2020 | Major - Digital Marketing, Minor - Design. Presently working at Pratham Skilling as a Program Associate in the data and research team
“As a design minor I took several design courses throughout my undergrad. It helped create a strong foundation for design as I was learning varied courses like graphic design, design thinking, nature and design etc.
The courses weren’t mainstream and helped me develop as a design thinker. They helped me find my strengths as a creative person.”
Class of 2021 | Major - Advertising and Branding, Minor - Design. Presently pursuing a PGDM in Art Direction from Miami Ad School, Mumbai
